the International Business Week - a complete week for an ICT associations members in global business understanding
The idea was to focus solely on globalization during an entire week — carried out by a local ICT association and supported heavily with Best Business Practice from the Nordic Business Perspectives. The general topic is how to create long-lasting Business on the international market by focusing on business strategies, human relations, PartnerShips and effective use of modern Technology. The week make space for a 2-day Global Business Seminar, a one-day work-shop regarding e-business in ICT distribution, a Corporate Branding Event and up to 7 company related Global Business Evaluation Sessions. An association might want to make part of the program open to all members, while they might be restricted on some of the events like the individual Global Business Evaluations. The Association is the practical organizers and secure locations, participant and structure, while I delivers the various presentations and training material to all participants who join the international Business Week. All material to support the events are pre-made, and ready to use by the associations, such as fact-sheets for each part of the Week, pre-made invitations, press-material and hand-outs. The plan in the top is how a typical International Business week looks like.
Global Business Seminar Learning, discussing and focusing on powerful internationalization I have designed the Global Business Seminar to take the participants through the re-thinking and re-structuring process of globalization. In principle we follow a visionary SME enterprise in the ICT industry, with their preparation for internationalization - based on a firm and proven plan for re-designing and focusing on cross-border co-operation and increased business understanding in the new global market and knowledge-based economy. The objective of the Seminar is to transfer solid business practice, good and effective experiences and well-proven methodologies, in order for the participants to be able to create and re-design their own international business set-up and direction. The Agenda for the Seminar ¯ the evolution in the ICT sector towards a true global and market-driven industry, including customer’s perspectives, demands and decisions patterns on the digital market. Beside this a comparison to the traditionally market, and the impact of the new economy will be high-lighted. ¯ the competence and knowledge needed for globalization and international trade & business development, which will include sessions of mentalities and business behavior, competitive reactions, skills and back-grounds, value chain generation, trade and business understanding ¯ global business strategy, including tools for diagnostics, prognosis, trends, tactics and strategic direction, working methodology, international sales and marketing, visions and brand creation ¯ how a localization strategy can supplement the international business strategy, and the entire business community’s impact on your sales of your services and products ¯ understanding strategic business in the new area, including how to handle the challenges in the digital economy, and the perspectives of the accessibility of your organization/group ¯ the unavoidable need for partners around the world to secure profitability, stability, localization and market knowledge ¯ E-business perspectives in the global economy ¯ self-assessment for globalization (work-shop mode) ¯ the universe of GPM - Global PartnerShip Management© (and CRM issues) to optimize international trade relations and to implement the needed procedures, incl. international business contracts, pricing, support structures and exit strategies ¯ effective PartnerSearches on the global market – either direct or via other means like trade missions, exhibitions and events ¯ maintaining a dynamic approach in your PartnerShip relations and optimize profit and efficiency ¯ bridging the gap between the new world economy and the traditional pattern for business relations, including the business transformation that is needed ¯ implementing successful methods in the international sales, marketing, R&D and distribution
Global Business Evaluation Constructive dialogues regarding the global business set-up A portion of the international Business Week is also to evaluate selected enterprises with respect to their international set-up. In 2½-3 hours I will evaluate an enterprise’s potential based on previous best business practice for the ICT industry, the strategic set-up of the company, the search for distribution and partnerships, the product and/or services and the likelihood for international success. It is a dialogue oriented event with little presentation, but a huge amount of discussion, from
¯ Product marketing vs. branding ¯ International marketing efforts ¯ Relations to the European Union ¯ Joint PartnerShips in sales, R&D and projects ¯ E-business dimension in the global context ¯ Staff’s performance and critical issues ¯ Cross-border trade barriers
Other Global Consultants Services Beside the various Seminars, sessions and work-shops during an International Business Week, there might be a need for individual discussions around topics like…

Powerful e-business How to build powerful relationships in sales and marketing using new technology Today’s effectfull business relations in distribution (Business2Business) is not only on personal level — e-business is needed in every corner. Nothing can of course still substitute the personal relationship—but the daily routines, enquiries and search for new opportunities will be replaced by use of advanced ICT. CRM Systems are build to hold numerous contacts who eventually should be interested in you products and services — where companies find that they use considerable time in creating contact lists and maintain information — without benefiting from the immense work. They all want focus in the communication to the contacts — a smaller number with more relevant information might be the answer to this. Many sales operations struggle every day trying to optimize the profit on individual sales and battle with discounts and remembering the agreements and preferred customer benefits—calculating the exact Salesprice based on previous performance and volume might be the right answer to this frustration. From management site it is always a problem to market the right products to the right segment — and often it is frustrating to see that new products or new versions do not move as quickly as anticipated based on lack of focus. Having a better information flow of interests and expected customer directions could very easily be the answer. Minimizing returns of wrong sold items — better knowledge of few selected key accounts for use in the entire organization and attracting new vendors is also some of the other exciting issues in a modern distribution set-up. On this one-day work-shop we will look into · The business processes for an effectfull distribution company—using e-business as a strategic tool for efficiency · The ICT solution to support the e-business and the distribution set-up incl. · Index based individual pricing · How to predict next order · How to secure goods on-time for customers · How to limit returns · How to make it easy for customers to order · Fluent return and warranty issues · Implementing such a system This one-day event can be used for companies who want to set-up an effectfull distribution enterprise and/or ICT Companies who decides to create software for such distribution companies

Key-Note address Benefiting from Global PartnerShips at SuperComm By Jųrn W.Phigalt, TASBI Chairman TransAtlantic Small Business Initiative and CEO of ITM Europe (phigalt@itm-europe.dk)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As part of a number of events here at SuperComm2001 - this seminar will help to give all a better understanding of the situation of growing ICT-enterprises. I strongly believe that the business community across the Atlantic can learn a lot from each other through the exchange of good practice and through an intense discussion regarding PartnerShips in the new economy. We have already seen a number of best practices introduced here today - all with the view to improve the business relations and I welcome this - and more will come during the afternoon. In my capacity as European Chairman of TransAtlantic Small Business Initiative I often comes across SME’s who nearly do not understand the globalization aspect - and for whom an international adventure is far away. As the basic philosophy - not all companies need to become a major global player - but the world has changed. Now it is not any longer just a wishful dream to work with people and companies on the global market - it is a necessity. Globalization is a complex process and it is possible to evaluate and analyze this from a number of different perspectives. However the fact remains - the introduction of the e-commerce have changed the way business are conducted. I believe that only 5% of the e-business dialogues is directly linked to doing electronic business over the net - the majority of the e-business discussions in companies, relates to business transformation issues. Business Processes has been Re-engineered heavily the past years, as the new way of looking at business has changed a number of traditionally ways for customer relationships, suppliers, the entire supply chain management view and the enterprise resource planning... For years the ICT-Industry has been the innovative creator of new ideas and technological developments - presenting opportunities that the enterprises haven’t seen before. The contradiction today is that Best Business Practice has overtaken this role to a certain extend and are now leading in the dialogues regarding visions and thoughts behind the new economy. While the existing ‘Technological Net’ is struggling with 3 major obstructions - the still more complex computer technology, the high and unreasonable Telecommunication cost’s, and the lack of a reliable payment system, - 3 issues which is needed heavily for the consumer-to-business relation, the business community has a much higher idea of the use of ICT. If we look of some of the key demands a business organizations has today your will find Local Presence - Local Assistance - Easy Return Policy in the top. All tree demands far ahead of communicating in a local language - the easy payment system and the variety of add-on benefits. The most important conclusion is that all those qualities - point in the direction of a local business partner. The globalization of their PartnerShip activity has a double impact on ICT-companies. For some it means new possibilities for outward expansion and growth. These ICT-companies are able to take advantage of international opportunities and move into new markets. These ICT-companies are important to the EU - US Relationship in terms of their contribution to growths, employment and profitability. For a great deal of companies, however, globalization is an inward process that brings competitive challenges and threats. Here we hope that these initiatives like here at SuperComm will make them see positive on those challenges and possibilities instead of threats - as they adopt the skills and insight to become internationally competitive. Survival in the present form is highly unrealistic - but by improving quality, focusing on the cost aspects to become more competitive and use new and modern management practices - those companies can be turned into a beneficial contribution to our society. Both the US and the European Unions member countries are heavily focused on increasing the value of ICT and bring new technology and innovation in front in the daily life - it has become a lifestyle to support ICT and the use alone of the mobility in computing has shown us the direction. Things will never return to normal again - and we are here in Atlanta to secure that new ideas, innovations, developments and technological break-through find its way across the Atlantic in a practical and transparent way. Doing global business is something we do every day - and this forum has once again set the agenda for effective PartnerShips. I wish you the best, not only for this seminar, but also for the years ahead, as we help our business community and society to overcome the challenges of globalization and learn to cope with the new global economy. Thank you. |
